There is a huge difference between Malaysia, Indonesia and Hong Kong, but all of them beautiful in their own way. If you would ask me to visit one country again, I’ll always say Indonesia. Though Indonesia has much more poverty, it’s definitely the more welcome country, at least the people make you more feel like that. It even doesn’t matter sitting for four or five hours in a bus with no air conditioning.  The locals are for 100% in that bus too and would share with you anything they’ve got.

Malaysia has a big influence of India, Pakistan and even the Arabians countries. It also means the cuisine has much more to offer, than the Indonesian one. I loved them both! Hong Kong instead was a real surprise. I didn’t expect so many vegetarian or even vegan restaurants, cause China or Hong Kong is definitely famous for duck and other poultry. We missed a bit the spiciness, though.

Back to reality, which is Adelaide for me now. The difference of the temperature is high. Yesterday it was almost like 31 or 32 degree Celsius and today I have to deal with 13 or 14 degree Celsius. I didn’t have to think a lot about buying a jumper for the next few weeks or even month, when I work in the Flinders Range.

Coz, we are travelling together now, we decided to post one report for each country on our website, as well as lots of pictures! Our report is still under construction and it’s gonna take a few more days until upload.

Well, in the meantime I send you best greetings from Lake Toba, our last stopp in Indonesia. We gonna fly out on thursday to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Unfortunately I didn’t have time to update my blog, before I left Newcastle.

The concert in the Entertainment Centre was just amazing. I loved it! The pictures aren’t perfect, as it was mainly dark. My new camera has issues to take clear pictures in darkness!

Had two really fantastic nights with Janessa, her brother Burke and Jennifer. We didn’t win the Trivia Night, as I wanted, but anyways. Friday night, we went to all sort of clubs and pubs what Newy has to offer. The last one had a special night called ‘Eye Candy’. They wanted 10 bugs admission to let us in, a way too much for all of us! We’re poor backpackers! So we turned around and wanted to leave. One of the security girls offered us to pay the admission and get a free drink. No way – we were still
standing there and she came back to us and said free entry for all of us! Apparently she talked to her supervisor and so we got in for free! What a night, where we all got even a free brush tattoo. I chose a turtle which was on the right side of my belly. It didn’t last for a week, had to many showers. It doesn’t look that bad, i think. Have been thinking about a real one.

On my last night I got a call in from Rohan, manager from my kitchenhand job, to work with him. He normally does the serving thing and so i was collecting classes, bottles from the tables, as there was a wedding. There wasn’t a clear line what i had to do or not, so sometimes it was a bit confusing. BUT – i got money for what i did! VERY IMPORTANT!! What a nice evening.

I surprised my cleaning mates with cupcakes from my favourite coffe place. They were sooo thankful.

Sunday morning i joined a last time the body balance class, which was again sooooooo good! Packing of my rest stuff, enjoying a last shower, cooking my lunch and than saying ‘goodbye’ to my mates! Janessa had been working the whole day, so i already said ‘goodbye’ to her in the morning. That was the hardest part, i thought. Two mates taught me something else. WOW! Heartbreaking 4 all of them, even my special friend.

The drive down to Sydney airport took me four hours. At almost midnight i arrived in Perth, waited another 90 min to get on the plane to Jakarta. All went right, i even got my luggage pretty early!

In a week, I gonna be at the airport, probably waiting anywhere for taking off. First i have a domestic flight from Sydney (NSW) to Perth (WA) for about five hours. Did this flight last year, but the other way around. At midnight i’ll get on the plane from Perth to Jakarta, where I gonna arrive early morning on 2nd April.

Now, I decided not to see the Blue Mountains. I bought instead a ticket for the ‘Evanescene’ concert at the Entertainment Centre on wednesday. I had the feeling, i have to do something before I leave Australia. I haven’t been at many concerts in my life, to be honest, just one. So, it’s time to experience something else.

I haven’t seen much from the Surffest, but apparently a younger boy, who stayed a couple of nights here in the YHA, won. Last weekend was much going on here. The city arranged a free shuttle bus to get to all events on the weekend. Nice! The Surffest, Newcastle Regional Show, like a big fun fair and a footy game. At the Regional Show i took a picture from huge cow, which was the biggest i’ve ever seen. Have a look in my new pictures!Actually, it’s a steer.

We also had an exciting event for youtube in the YHA. Janessa and me were asked to be sort of ‘actors’ for this
promo video. So, just before we went to The Brewery for a lovely free dinner, we “played” with the film crew. The
film crew consisted of swedish twins and two lovely asian girls, who have already been filming in other NSW YHA’s.
I’ll get info when the video is online and let you know.

Whatelse happened the last two weeks? Mmmmh, — i’m joining a month membership in a gym. Been doing yoga and
body balance for three weeks now and i’m kind of really enjoying every single class. Built even some muscles up! The gym became to one of my favourite spots, when not hanging out in the hostel. It’s so calm and has given me so much strength, which i needed until i’m heading on.
